lowdown magazine

Carclew is South Australia’s only multi-art form and cultural organisation dedicated to artistic outcomes by and for people aged 26 and under. Providing young people with opportunities to try different art forms, the organisation supports emerging artists to develop their craft and advocates for youth arts practice. Lowdown Magazine had a long history as an information and discussion resource for youth performing arts in Australia.

Working with the existing brand identity, I created a fresh new look for the printed collateral with Lowdown editor. Carclew's long standing magazine was relaunched to a new-look, full-colour version.

I developed a style for regular feature articles, reviews, and theatre company profiles, the 'What’s On' calendar and news section for each state and territory.

This was later translated into a web version when the magazine later launched online, and designed miscellaneous visual assets for promoting the magazine such as banners, postcards, subscription forms from 2008 until the Lowdown program ended in 2011.
