THE NATIONAL TRUST OF VICTORIA

The Victorian branch of the Trust has an education program which involves activities for schools around the properties in the Trust’s care. History can be perceived as uninteresting by young people, but the Trust has developed lively and fun activities which bring history to life by engaging actors in role-play.

For this project, I searched through the Trust's image archives and carefully selected a series of black and white monotones. I also visited the MacCrae Estate and was granted special access to Georgiana MacCrae’s paintings and journals, and took my own photos of flowers at the Rippon Lea Estate gardens. I used Photoshop to colorise and rearrange the images in the way that kids inject playfulness and chaos into life.

The finished illustrations were used for postcards, a booklet, banner, web images and social media graphics. See more: NTV Primary Program
